Edoardo Nerboni

Born in Lugano in 1998, I attended the International Conservatory of Audiovisual Sciences of Locarno (CISA), where I graduated in October 2018. After directing two documentaries during high school: the first one about contemporary art and the following, about the Rom population of Roșia village, in Romania,  I worked as Set PA and post-production trainee, from December 2018 to June 2019 at Mcqueen Films, a video production company for Commercial and Documentary based in Zurich.

After 6 months in Switzerland, I felt called to go back to the cinema industry therefore, in September 2019 I took the leap and booked a flight to New York where I knocked on the door of some production companies asking for experience and opportunities in the field.
Here I had the chance to work on two long features, the first by Tim Sutton, “Funny Face” and the second by Oliver Dungey “Black and White and Red All Over”.

After this enriching experience in New York, I crossed the world again and landed in Ghana. There, I worked as a second camera unit for a documentary on the coronation of a local king near the capital Accra. This fantastic project inspired me to shoot my documentary in Senegal in February 2022, about a Swiss association engaged in youth reintegration in the fishing village of Mboro sur Mer, “Intrecci”.

The next step of my journey eventually brought me back home to Switzerland. I’ve been working for the Swiss television in Ticino for a digital program called “Cult+”.

Having had the privilege of experiencing television, video commercials, and cinema, I’m now focusing again on what excites me the most: the film and commercial industry in the camera department. Therefore, from March 2023, I’m pursuing my filmmaker career as a freelance.
